Student trip to NYC Art Museums
Mark Mcleod started the campaign
For the past 4 years, the Student Art League at Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, TN has taken a trip to visit the art museums and galleries in New York City.  The trip has enabled 30 students who would not otherwise be able to go to NYC to see some of the most famous works of art in the world. Over the past 4 years we have raised almost $30,000 to fund the trip.

This year we have come up short with our funding.  Prices have gone up and financial aid has not come through.  Students have put down deposits and worked over 300 hours in the community to help cover the cost of the trip but because of last minute increases the trip has become a financial burden for some of these students.

We have $1,600 left to raise before March 9th.

Some of the museums and galleries we will visit include the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the New Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of the Moving Image, the Studio Museum in Harlem, numerous Chelsea galleries, the Brooklyn Museum, Guggenheim, Whitney and many more.

If you are interested in helping students from a predominately rural area have a once in a lifetime experience, please consider contributing.

You can visit our Art Department blog to see what we've done in the past and to read articles students have posted about the exhibitions that will be up when we go.  http://tinyurl.com/as92cew
