HEAT Hot Sauce is a shop dedicated to providing the community of Berkeley with a wide variety of hot sauces, with an emphasis on local, organic, and gourmet sauces. We have our shop set-up and ready to open, but we have been unable to get our business licence.

We have spent the last three months trying to appease the city of Berkeley, and we cannot afford to wait much longer. The city is requiring that we install a mop sink (as well as a $2000 door opener for disability access), but they have repeatedly denied our permit applications and we are running out of money.

The total cost of installing the mop sink and ADA improvements will be around $6,000, but we could manage to open if we can raise at least $4,000.

We truly appreciate the outpouring of support we have received over the last few days and we look forward to being your local hot sauce shop.
 Any amount helps!

In return for your generosity, we will give you a free hot sauce for every $20 donated. If you are feeling extremely generous, donations of $200 or more earns you a lifetime 10% off everything at Heat.

Rest assured that if we are not able to open, you will not be charged. Note that sauces over $10 count as two sauces.

***UPDATE:
The city has dropped the ADA improvements, and a plumber has donated their services to install the mop sink. This has allowed us to lower our goal to $2000. Thanks so much for all of your support!!!
