Support the Children of Active Duty Military Sailors
Evan Scherr started the campaign

April is the Month of the Military Child and what better way to honor these children by supporting a cause that promotes fitness. I work at a school for the children of active duty sailors on a U.S. Navy in Sasebo, Japan. We are looking to encourage our students to become more active and physically fit. We would like to buy 25 Nike Fuel Bands total ($3,750), however we use whatever we raise to purchase however many we can afford so that we can promote running, jogging, walking, hiking and dancing to our students.

The Nike Fuel Bands will allow our students to set fitness goals, track their progress, earn trophies and compete against their friends and other around the world. The students earn points for walking, jogging, running, or dancing, thus getting them up out of their seats and moving. We believe that making fitness fun, while teaching our students to set and track real goals will also greatly benefit them over the course of their lives.

Military children make huge sacrifices, often having to move every couple of years. This can cause a lot of stress in their lives, especially when the military parent deploys, often up to a a year. We believe that by turning fitness into a game, we will not only see more of a commitment to physical fitness, but also a reduction to their stress levels.

So please help me support the amazing children that I get to work with everyday and get them up and active with Nike Fuel Bands.
