The Field of Dreams Campaign is a cooperative effort between Redding Elementary School and America Scores Bay Area (registered 501(c)3 non profit). It will bring a state-of-the-art synthetic turf soccer field to the children of San Francisco's Tenderloin Neighborhood.  This 4,000sq/ft field will be the first of its kind in a neighborhood that lacks resources and accessibility to any green space for our young people.  PLEASE NOTE: ALL DONATIONS ARE 100% TAX DEDUCTIBLE :)

The creation of turf in place of asphalt will increase physical activity in our community, thus reducing risk of chronic disease. The creation of the field will also help to reduce criminal activity by creating a monitored and supported safe space in the neighborhood. In addition, this safe place to gather and play will build a sense of community and increase social capital of the Tenderloin neighborhood.

Our community is rich in diversity. 40% of our neighborhood population was born outside the United States, and 72% of our students are considered English learners-- 90% of whom come from socioeconomically disadvantaged families.

America SCORES Bay Area works in deep partnership with public school to change the game for youth in low-income communities.  At Redding Elementary, they offer soccer, creative writing, and service-learning opportunities to 4 different teams who play, create, and learn 6 days a week. The America SCORES vision for San Francisco is for all children to have access to high-quality sports and enrichment programs regardless of their families’ income levels and to be a national model for community collaboration.

Please help bring this field to life, and give the gift of soccer (and other sport) to our community.

Hi Rahul, I went to Redding back in the sixties when the playground was on the street level. I played there everyday after school with my friends. I will let a few of my friends know about the Field of Dreams.

Thanks, man. I went to Hastings and I always want to help out the kids in that neighborhood.
