CNC Metal Mill for Ace Monster Toys
David Rorex started the campaign

Ace Monster Toys in Oakland needs a CNC Metal Mill. This would allow us to quickly create custom metal parts from CAD designs, and would be an awesome new addition to our hackerspace. See here for a video of this type of machine in operation.

The machine will be available for members to use, and Costa along with another member have pledged to learn the machine and show others how to use it, to make sure it doesn't sit unused in the corner.

Lastly, as Ace Monster Toys is now a 501(c)3 orginization, contributions should be tax deductible (check with your accountant)

Here is what the money will be used for:

(~$975)  Little Machine Shop Mini Mill

(~$700) CNC Fusion Mini Mill Conversions

(~$450) CNC Motors with driver and control

(~300) Tooling for r8 collet mills

(175$) Mach3 License to run the CNC (useful for other CNCs too)

(200$) Deskproto (easy to use cam program)

(~$250) Shipping & taxes

The minimum we need is $3000, which will cover all of the above. Ace Monster Toys as an organization is willing to put in up to $1000 from our meager funds. Any additional money raised will go towards a stand and an enclosure (so that it doesn't make a mess over the entire place with metal shavings flying), and additional cutting bits (these are easy to break and so will need replacing).
