ON ROOF DECK:
MARCELLUS PITTMAN, Detroit House Legend
Playing between Berlin, London, Tokyo and of course the historical house city of Detroit, Marcellus’s stripped-down style of house with soul is receiving a lot of international love.
Now playing and producing alongside Theo Parrish, Rick Wilhite and Kenny Dixon, Jr. as one quarter of 3 Chairs, and with his own label Unirhythm, Pittman’s infectious sound is spreading – while staying true to its Motor Town roots. For a taste of his sound, check out this recent mix that XLR8R call’s “the deepest, most soulful DJ session in the history of the XLR8R podcast series.” http://www.xlr8r.com/podcast/2011/09/marcellus-pittmans-new-forms-mix

ON LOWER DECK:
SHINY OBJECTS, Om Records, Smoke N’ Mirrors
Shiny Objects” which is, the founder of OM Records, Chris Smith’s latest project. A fine blend of futuristic disco backed by a deep tech house beat is how to describe not only his sets but also his exciting, rising label– Smoke N Mirrors. A recent mix is up here: https://soundcloud.com/shinyobjects111/audio-illusions-v-2-continuous

On board LED Installation by:
MARK SLEE
Mark Slee’s visual art is built around structured systems of addressable LED lights. Drawing on a background in computer programming, he develops algorithmic patterns inspired both by organic and mathematical processes, employing procedural motion, subtle variation, and evolving shifts in both form and hue. These patterns explore the way our visual perception works, creating a vivid, colorful experience that is pleasing both aesthetically and intellectually – pretty lights that tickle the mind. You may have experienced his work on the ceiling of 222 Hyde but here is a recent video: http://vimeo.com/32058782

Attire:

We are encouraging people to dress warm. It’s San Francisco–DO NOT forget your layers. It’s more than likely going to be pretty cold on the roof deck which has the best viewing of The Bay Lights. So be prepared. Marcellus will be keeping us warm up there while Shiny Objects is set to keep us shining on the lower deck so be ready for some dancing. Unfortunately, there is no coat check so please keep all of your own items near you and pack smart.

A lot of people are getting prepared by lighting up their attire. However, this isn’t the playa so think of your creative formal gear. Look sharp!
